The Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative Boot Camp has returned and greatly amplified its focus on civic engagement, cooperating among teams and communities to reinforce public values and ultimately make an important change in society.
By introducing prominent activists, role models, intricately connected non-profit organisations, this programme equips its youthful participants with essential knowledge and digital skills to work collaboratively on pressing matters pertaining to civic engagement and supporting the local community.
The programme escalated the capacity of young Malaysian leaders by developing a strong network to promote civic engagement and community service, equipping the participants with skills, tools, and resources to solve their own community challenges.
The workshop aimed to fulfil the following outcomes:
1. Inspire and train Malaysian youth about their role in civic engagement issues and introduce the participants to advocacy training.
2. Build a strong network among YSEALI members to work collaboratively on civic engagement issues in their communities.
3. Develop the skills and capacity of highly active and passionate young leaders and equip them with the skills, tools, and resources to become changemakers in their communities.
4. Provide a resource for the larger youth population to use for future campaigns and civic movements.
The programme has observed 40 youths undergone our 3-week online course, including a MOOC.
The final week of the YSEALI Boot Camp 2020 concluded with a final pitch submitted by the participants, the winners are:
